BIO

Coach Lucky's profound love and passion for the game can be traced back to his high school days when he found inspiration in his gym teacher, Mr. Mike Romelo. Despite lacking a formalized volleyball program at his high school, Mr. Romelo's influence ignited a lasting passion for the sport within Coach Lucky. This passion persevered, accompanying him through recreational and club volleyball experiences at Pennsylvania State University and beyond. In the early 2000s, Coach Lucky embarked on a new chapter by starting a family with his wife, Jessica. Simultaneously, he excelled in his professional career at Apple Inc., a testament to his exceptional skills and dedication. Over the course of 13 years, he held various roles, including project manager, product manager, and ultimately, program manager, accumulating invaluable professional experience that would later enhance his coaching abilities. With an insatiable thirst for knowledge in volleyball, Coach Lucky has dedicated over 30 years to studying and honing his expertise. As a seasoned coach for the past 12 years, he has guided numerous athletes to success. His coaching journey encompasses diverse experiences, including coaching for USA Volleyball's esteemed High-Performance Program, conducting advanced setting and high-school clinics at Stanford, and fostering growth within college, high school, and local Bay Area clubs. Then, in 2023, he collaborated with his esteemed colleagues Coach Gel & Dave and started the Blue Banner Volleyball Club.
